This week's case comes to us from Columbia, South Carolina where St. Francis Physician Services, Inc and their entities agreed to pay $36.5 million to resolve allegations that it violated the False Claims Act, Stark Law, and the Federal Anti-kickback Law. The violations were founded in the fact that this group made payments to orthopedic surgeons based on volume of referrals.
